GiLL pulls great stroke of luck or in
his opinion skill to overcome the enemy at aoe2 last night. Sceenies have been
taken in the aoe2 game to see.
In a
battle lasting well over 2 hours last night, i'm not sure who the victor was,
but one thing was for sure, I had the best score :) This is a new thing,
obviously i've never had the best score before.
The 2v2 battle, had been knocked from
the start, when the german, Joey, aka Remeden got disconnected on his dialup. It
then meant the game was going to have a turn in it. I continued building and
developing, reaching each age, at least 10 minutes before everyone else. (see
screeny to prove) My army was fine, although it consisted mainly of paladin,
which was probably my main weakness.
I
decided to launch an unsuspected attack on Mick, but then I held it off, in
response to Rob's ( Hanzo) statement that his army would be there in "a min".
This was not to be the case. For Robs army was never to arrive....
I soon
noticed a large gathering of mick's villagers to the east of my main settlement,
and I decided to send some troops over to investigate. Mick had been
building.... ALOT.... I soon became flooded over with paladins and surprisingly,
MONKS. His flood of paladins was worrying me, because I had stationed most of my
men on the west of the large landscape. And transporting them from one side of
the map to the other could have taken a couple of minutes. I decided to leave
them there and try and contain Mick with my own home forces. Mean while I was
asking my ally, Rob (Hanzo), for backup. I was at first glad to see his troops
flooding in to the outskirts of my town. There were many units and varied. He
paused.....
At
this point I had lead a small invasion into Mick's home town, and destroyed it
surprisingly easily. I had lost little men while attacking this town. However my
main town had many casulties. Rob was still not helping, then his stance changed
to ENEMY. I recalled earlier when Rob had said, "yup I will attack mick later."
I don't recall him saying , "yup I'll kill you". After thinking the battle was
over, my own ally had begun attacking me. My battle weakened men were not strong
enough to fight Rob's army. I felt I might lose the main city.
Time
was ticking on... It was about 2 am, and I knew to conquer Rob, it would take
many more hours and it was possible. So I decided to resign and call it a
night....
